Your work matters.
We act like it.
And we built an agency to prove it.
Caregivers perform some of the most meaningful work in our communities. Our goal is to create an environment where that work is respected, supported, and genuinely valued — not just in what we say, but in how we operate every single day.
We did not build Genao by entering the home care industry from a distance. We built it because we lived inside it — as caregivers, as nurses, as family members who searched for the kind of agency this one is trying to be. That is the difference you will feel here.

A message from our founders
If you have been looking for an agency that actually gets it —
"We built the organization we could not find. One where caregivers are the center — not the afterthought."
Most agencies describe caregiving as a calling and then treat caregivers as interchangeable. Schedules change without notice. Calls go unanswered. Years of experience and genuine compassion are reduced to an hourly rate on a staffing spreadsheet. We built Genao Home Care to be something different — and we built it around a specific belief: when caregivers are treated well, participants receive better care. The two are inseparable.
Our three founders — Diana, Elogidina, and Tania Torres Genao — designed this organization so that caregivers would feel the same dignity they give to others every single day. That is not a promise. It is the architectural principle behind how we hire, how we communicate, how we schedule, and how we invest in our team.
If you are reliable, compassionate, and professional — and you want to work for an agency that recognizes exactly what you bring — we would like to talk to you. We are selective because the individuals and families we serve deserve nothing less than the best. And the best caregivers deserve nothing less than us.
— Diana, Elogidina & Tania Torres Genao, Co-Founders
What our caregivers
tell us they value.
We asked. We listened. We built the organization around the answers. These are not benefits invented in a boardroom — they are what caregivers told us matters most
about where they choose to work and why they stay.
Medicaid is income-based
Caregivers tell us the most important thing is knowing that when they call, a real person answers who knows their name and their cases. At Genao, communication from our coordination team is clear, timely, and treats you as the professional you are — not as a number on a staffing board.
Reliable Schedules
Guidance When It Matters
A Professional Environment
Your expertise and experience are recognized and appreciated — every shift, not just at annual reviews.
Paid Training
Every hour of onboarding and ongoing training is paid. You grow on our time, not yours.
Mileage Reimbursement
Driving between participants is part of the work. We reimburse you fairly for every mile.
A Path Forward
We are growing. Leadership roles, certifications, and expanded responsibilities are available to those who want them.
Every quarter, we come together as a team.
This work can be emotionally demanding. We know that. Caregiver burnout is one of the most serious problems in our industry — and most agencies respond to it by pretending it does not exist. We responded by building a structured program to address it directly, every single quarter.
"We invest in our caregivers’ wellbeing the same way we invest in participant care — with structure, with professionals, and with genuine intention."
Professional psychologist sessions
Licensed psychologists join our gatherings to facilitate one-on-one and group conversations — a confidential space to process the emotional weight of this work.

Six reasons Genao is
genuinely different.
Every agency says they care about caregivers. We built an organization to prove it — in our pay, our scheduling, our communication, our culture, and our quarterly commitment to your wellbeing.
Respectful Workplace Culture
Your name is known here. Your work is recognized. Your concerns are heard by people with authority to act on them. We treat caregivers with the same dignity we expect them to give.
Transparent, Competitive Pay
Pay rates are shared before you commit — no vague ranges, no surprises. We benchmark our rates to reflect the real professional value of this work.
Flexible Scheduling
We adapt when things change. Your schedule is built around your life — your family, your commitments, your availability. We adapt when things change.
Quarterly Wellbeing Gatherings
Four times a year we bring our team together — with psychologists, professionals, and peer learning. Because who takes care of the caregiver? We do.
Bilingual Team Environment
Our team operates fully in English and Spanish. If Spanish is your primary language, you belong here as fully as anyone else. No accommodation required.
Opportunities to Grow
We are building something. Caregivers who want to grow will find the door open. We promote from within and invest in the people who invest in us.
We are selective about who joins this team —
because the people we serve deserve it.
Schedules you can
actually plan your life around.
Flexible scheduling means it works around your life. Reliable scheduling means it doesn’t change without warning. At Genao, we work hard to provide both — because we understand that your schedule is not just a work document. It is how you plan childcare, appointments, your own rest, and everything else that matters outside of work.
We organize quarterly wellbeing gatherings where caregivers can learn from professionals, share real experiences, and focus on maintaining their own wellbeing — because we know that a caregiver who is supported and stable provides better care. Predictable hours are part of that support.
"Caregivers should be able to plan their lives with confidence while providing excellent care to the individuals they support."
Schedules built with you
We do not assign shifts without conversation. Your availability, your preferences, and your constraints are part of building your schedule from the beginning.
Changes communicated with advance notice
When scheduling changes are unavoidable, you are the first to know — with enough notice to plan. Not a last-minute call. Not a text the night before.
Coverage handled internally
When coverage gaps arise, we resolve them internally. You are not asked to scramble or find your own replacement. That is our responsibility, not yours.
Consistency as a priority
We prioritize consistency in participant matches. Stable caregiver-participant relationships lead to better care — and a more fulfilling experience for you.
Part-time welcomed and respected
Part-time schedules are not second-class at Genao. If 15 hours a week is what works for you, that works for us — with the same professional respect and team support.

The families we serve deserve
the very best caregiver.
You deserve the very best employer.
This is where both things are true.

People who communicate clearly and respectfully
With families, with our team, and with the individuals in their care — in English or Spanish.

Regardless of diagnosis, ability, age, or circumstance. Unconditionally. Every visit.
People who are dependable and professionally accountable
Families count on you. You take that responsibility seriously — without being asked twice.

Who show up for each other during quarterly gatherings and in between — because this work is easier together.
